Reaching IIT Delhi

Delhi is well-connected to all major cities in India via road, rail, and air. It is a hub for domestic and international travel, with multiple railway stations and one of the busiest airports in the country. IIT Delhi is located in Hauz Khas, New Delhi, and is well connected by metro, road, and cab services. 

(a)  From Airport to Campus:

From Indira Gandhi International Airport, the most convenient way to reach IIT Delhi is by metro or cab. One can take the Airport Express Line from the airport to New Delhi Metro Station, then change to the Yellow Line towards Samaypur Badli and get down at Hauz Khas. From Hauz Khas, IIT Delhi can be reached either by a short auto or cab ride, or by changing to the Magenta Line and getting down at IIT Delhi Metro Station. This journey typically takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Alternatively, taxis such as Uber, Ola, or prepaid airport cabs are available directly from the airport and take around 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.

(b)  From Railway Station to Campus:

From New Delhi Railway Station, IIT Delhi can be reached easily by metro by taking the Yellow Line from New Delhi Metro Station towards Samaypur Badli and getting down at Hauz Khas, followed by a short auto, cab ride, or a change to the Magenta Line to IIT Delhi station. From Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, travelers can either take a cab directly to IIT Delhi, which is usually the quickest option, or reach a nearby metro station such as JLN Stadium, take the Violet Line to Central Secretariat, change to the Yellow Line towards Samaypur Badli, and get down at Hauz Khas. From Old Delhi Railway Station, one can board the Yellow Line from Chandni Chowk Metro Station and get down at Hauz Khas, then proceed to IIT Delhi by auto, cab, or the Magenta Line. Overall, the metro is the most reliable mode of transport, while cabs provide the most direct and comfortable option, especially for those with luggage.
